What is cloud computing?

It is basically the idea that you store your data (securely) online rather than on a single computer. This makes it accessible anytime and from anywhere. So you literally put your data’ up in the clouds’.

Cloud computing has been around for a while (in modern day Internet terms). The phrase cloud computing was inspired by the cloud symbol that’s often used to represent the Internet in flowcharts and diagrams.

What do you mean by data?

Data can be anything from your documents, to music and photos.

How would I get access then to my data?

Either through two methods normally, through a website or devices with special software for access to that that particular ‘cloud’.

The device could be a regular desktop PC, or iPad or IPhone for example. These devices that you own are all synced together so you can access your data on anyone of them. It doesn’t matter if you edit something on one device, it automatically sync in real-time to the other devices. So you an pick-up where you left off.
