A customer asked me the other day what info Google collects when a user enters a search query.
Well, I knew just about what info they hold / use, but I wasn’t able to give it quite into laymans terms. But a quick search later, I found an informative video to answer the question. One which put it clearly, and just right. (more…)

This week, I am focusing on something a little different from the usual technology. But all the same, it is a technology that saves lives – smoke alarms. A customer of mine recently purchased a new laptop which had the ability to both watch and record Freeview TV. The customer asked if they needed to have a TV licence for this. I was totally unsure about this question, but all the same logic told me that if you watch TV through any medium, you will need a TV licence. So my answer (in short) was “yes”. (more…)
