Often people say that they are bored by how many pages are printed out when they press print whilst viewing a website. Mainly the waste of paper which is produced and the unnecessary amounts of ink involved. There is an easy way round this problem which is oh so often over looked.
The secret is to look for the print button on the actual website page, and not use the browser print option.
Why? The website print button will often strip out non-essential information or features from the actual printout. The browser printout, like in Internet Explorer, will print everything on the page, from headers and footers, to adverts and menus which the user often does not want.
Further to this, the website printout will often be designed to fill the whole page of A4.
Failing this of course, users may have to choose the browser print button if one is not available on the website they are viewing.
Needless to add note: think of the environment when printing out stuff, and remember you will save ink (cash!) too.
