Thinking of getting an MP3 player? Don’t have a clue about what you should be getting? 4 nano tips for you, and you should have a good idea:
- The very smallest MP3 players have something called flash-based memory in. They can go for much longer battery times, as they have no moving parts. For example, the iPod Nano. MP3 players with larger capacities will have hard-drives inside which means they are slightly bigger in size, like the iPod Classic, but you can fit much more onto them. They do however have a slightly shorter battery time.
- For a casual users, such as the average daily commute, a 2GB player will be more than enough and can hold roughly 400 songs on. If you have a big music collection and you want to take it all with you, then 80GB should be your bench mark as it can hold thousands of songs.
- The main music formats of choice that are used in MP3 players are MP3 (but you already knew that!), AAC, WAV, and WMA. Most music that you can purchase from online music stores will have DRM protection, so you will be limited as to how many of your devices you can copy it to.
- Lastly, an increasingly popular accessories to get is an FM transmitter for your MP3 player. Simply plug it into your MP3 player, tune your in-car or home radio into the frequency, and that’s it. No need for cables.
