Since yesterday afternoon (08.12.2009) thetechangel.com has been unable to receive incoming emails.
The host of thetechangel.com assures me that “a resolution is in hand this morning to replace the affected servers. Unfortunately we have no estimated completion time on this work although we are expecting the service to be fully functional during the course of today.”
It is unclear if incoming emails are being stacked-up to be received once the issue os resolved. This will become clear later.
If you have sent a message during this time and you don’t get a reply please resend the email after this time (wait for an update in the mean time).
An update will be posted here once systems are back to normal.
This issue is also relevant to those customers who have their hosting with Freeola.
Updates
The following updates are supplied by the host:
- “Update from Freeola ”9/12/09 14:20 AM: Work is still ongoing to get the e-mail server back in service. This is expected to happen soon but we cannot give an estimated completion time.”
- “Update from Freeola “9/12/09 16:40 PM: There have been some technical problems with the replacement server, which we hope to resolve shortly.”
- Update from Freeola “9/12/09 17:56 PM: Work is ongoing to replace the faulty e-mail server… Please allow up to 48 hours from the restoration of the e-mail service, while we endeavor to transfer messages from the old server to the new server’s mailboxes.
- The new mail server is now online, please note however that it may take up to 48 hours for attempts to recover messages from the original server to be completed.
This means things should start getting back to normal now. If any needed update should need to be said, please check back tomorrow at this page. Lots of emails now coming through, with a little delay. It’s is however still unclear if any emails have been lost in cyberspace as a result of the problems.
