Microsoft releases its largest security updates bundle, ever, today.

Microsoft’s updates total 13 bulletins that collectively patch 34 known vulnerabilities in Windows, Internet Explorer and some editions and elements of Microsoft Office.
Most users will receive the updates automatically later today (on GMT), but links to manually download them can be found on Microsoft’s security news pages. Once the updates have been applied the PC will need to restart in order for the fixes to take effect.
One of the loopholes which the patches solve is already being exploited by some cybercriminals out in the wild.
Previous to this collective series of updates, the largest was in June of this year which was 10 patch packages solving 31 known vulnerabilities.
Normally Microsoft updates are issued on the second Tuesday of every month, all year round. Only once has it broken its normal routine to patch a problem with Internet Explorer.
