The new Norton packages are promisingly faster and lighter than ever before. On top of the usual expected list of threat protections, some new and improved features have been added to help faster, fewer, shorter scans, and keep the PC in tip-top condition.

Further to this, the installation can take less than a minute and the style of installation is radically different to any previous Norton package.

Some new and improved features

  • Installs in under one minute on average, requires less than 8 MB of
  • Provides multilayered security through the Norton Protection System.
  • Defends against Web-based attacks.
  • Norton Insight is built on the Symantec Quorum backend intelligence technology first introduced in the 2009 products. In 2009 Norton Insight only quantified trustworthiness, in 2010 Norton Insight also provides information on prevalence, age, and runtime performance data.

The software is now also engineered for not only and Vista, but too.

The good news for existing Norton users is that they can their existing package free by clicking the link below.

But, this is the important part, the upgrade is only available providing you have an existing, working (paid for) subscription for that product. It doesn’t matter how much time is left on the subscription though. If the subscription has expired, whether it be yesterday or a month ago, the software upgrade will not work, and you will be unprotected.
