On 30th September 2009 all viewers with Freeview digital TV will need to retune their equipment in order to continue receiving their digital channels.
On the 30th viewers should retune their boxes and TV from lunchtime onwards. If you retune before this time, you may well find that some channels are not available.
The reason for this massive re-shuffle is to make sure that Five can become much more widely available, as well as making preparations for Freeview HD.
Those who do need help with retuning, or have lost the manual for how to do this should head-over to this website tvretune.co.uk/productmanuals/
It’s also worth noting that viewers may find a small number of channels have moved numbers to a new position on the Freeview EPG (Electronic Programme Guide). Also, if you have a recordable Freeview box (Freeview+) you may find that recordings of upcoming programmes and series links don’t work – you should reset you Freeview box back to the default factory settings (but there should be no need for you to delete your existing recordings)
For those wanting even more info, head over to this page on the Freeview website.
