Microsoft has advised that there is a major security hole in Internet Explorer that they are yet to patch properly.

Users are stongly advised to update this time ASAP
The good news is that there is a workaround fix (all be a temp fix) however that users are advised to apply immediately.
This particular vun’ is similar in description to many others – it lets attackers infect the victim’s computers (running Windows XP or Windows Server 2003) after they’ve clicked on a video link in Internet Explorer. The vulnerability allows attacker to run arbitrary code under the same user rights of the local user.
Readers will be quick to note that Windows Vista users need not apply for the workaround.
You can get the workaround patch for IE from here and it will only take a minute to apply. A proper patch will most likely be made available in the next 7 days.
