A very interesting desktop (literally) application has been released called BumpTop. BumpTop makes the desktop so much better and user friendly.
Some of you will be asking – “So what???”

BumpTop is essentially an add in interface for your PC which literally looks like a desktop. The same desktop that you may have in the real world right now…which can be untidy, messy and can have stuff piled-up.
BumpTop makes the icons, files and folders of your existing desktop much more manageable and far more real-world like.
You can do the really obvious stuff like move your folders around, but then give them real-world physics like their size, weight, whether or not they are stacked-up, and their importance to you.
Your items will grow over time in size the more you use them, or they can shrink the less you make of them, plus (if you want) you can shrink them.
Then further to this, you can stack-up stuff, view them as if the were cards to folders, spread them out along arbitrary paths, or show them in nice square grids (very boring!).
Because the app is 3D, you also get desktop walls to pin things up so they are a little more out the way. For example, just like your own desktop, you can pin photos, post-it notes and application shortcuts that you don’t use all the time.
If you don’t quite get that this all means, here is a handy video to show you – it’s just amazing what this software can do.
Bye-bye old desktop, hello friendly 3D one!
