Computers, TVs, and masses of other electronic devices and appliances could soon get an energy rating label similar to those found on white goods such as washing machines and fridges.

Is an energy efficiency rating coming to a PC near you?
This would mean that computers and the like would get A to G ratings based on performance and energy efficiency.
In everyday terms, the most energy efficient TV on the market costs £33 less a year to run than the least. Laptops also have a price tag per annum to run, a price difference of £52 a year.
The decision for this to go ahead will be voted on by Euro MPs this week.
