A software update has been released for Live Mesh as of March 2009. The update contains numerous bug fixes and new features.
Some customers are already seeing the major benefits from the software for remote assistance, backing-up of files and folders, or synchronising their data quickly and easily from one computer to another. In the case of thetechangel.com it is also being used to safely and securely distribute invoices, receipts and other important documents.
The new features for Live Mesh include a new Media Viewer on the Live Desktop, and the folder for News will now display the date (as well as time) for all news items, even older ones.
The fixes to the current software include:
- Improved the Live Desktop quota calculation.
- Optimized MOE CPU/memory use.
- Fixed Mac client start-up errors that caused client to shut down shortly after launching.
- Mac passwords containing extended characters now work properly.
- Device status (online/offline) now properly displayed on the Live Desktop, in the notifier, and in the Mesh bar.
- News now correctly displays the year.
All customers and Live Mesh users are strongly adviced to update as soon as possible.
Simply right-click over the Live Mesh icon in the task bar and choose “check for updates”.
It is suggested that if users are prompted to install updates in the future automatically that they should check the box which will appear during the update process and apply.
It is hoped that by the end of the year all thetechangel.com customers will be using Live Mesh in some form or another.
