This week see’s the final round of patches for Windows users in 2008. Six are flagged as ‘critical’ and two others are rated ‘important’.
The updates are available for download on 9th December.

The announcement is meant to be a heads-up for IT support, but users should also take note and install either when prompted or when available to manually install them from the Microsoft Update site.
Amongst the patch batch, the critical ones that affect Windows users are mainly to fix MS Office software (Word, Excel, etc.), Visual Basic, and Internet Explorer. All of the patches fix flaws that would allow naughty hackers to execute code remotely.
The ‘important’ patches are for PCs with Windows Media Centre and SharePoint software.
