Creating a playlist in iTunes

Playlists are great ways of having selected tracks to play at any given time. For example, you could have a playlist for the car with all your favourite sing along tunes, and other set of tracks for when you go to the gym. These are known as playlists, in a nut shell!

Not only can you have a selection of songs, but also audiobooks, videos, even podcasts – set to play in a partilar order of your choosing.

Playlists can be created on your PC and when you next plugin your , they will appear under the ‘Playlists’ option on the main menu. It’s so easy!

To make a playlist of your own

  1. In iTunes choose File > New Playlist > Type a name for the playlist i.e. ‘Gym’ or ‘Drive time’, etc. (the new playlist will appear on the left-hand side menu).
  2. Go back to your music library by clicking ‘Music’ from the left-hand menu and just simply drop-and-drag tracks to your playlist name on the left.

Tips

  • To select multiple items, hold down the Control or Shift key on your keyboard whilst you click – saves time if you want multiple items selected.
  • To remove an item from a playlist, select the playlist name on the left-hand menu > select the track in the list shown in the main menu and press the Delete key (this does not remove the item from your library or hard disk).
