Note: This article will be completely irrelevant to regular Blogberry readers, it is only relevant to 64-bit Windows users wanting to get Flash Player working
Over the past few weeks, I have noticed that masses of users have been trawling the Blogberry hoping for a fix on their 64-bit Windows machine.

Adobe: Two years on (nearly), and still not getting it right
I am sorry, but I have bad news for you Adobe does not support it’s own Flash Player software on 64-bit Windows.
This what Adobe’s own self help guide says for 64-bit users:-
“Issue
Adobe Flash Player is not supported for playback in a 64-bit browser. However, you can run Flash Player in a 32-bit browser running on a 64-bit operating system.Reason
Adobe is working on Flash Player support for 64-bit platforms as part of our ongoing commitment to the cross-platform compatibility of Flash Player. We expect to provide native support for 64-bit platforms in an upcoming release of Flash Player following Flash Player 10.”
Don’t shoot the messenger!
Don’t ask me why - I know it’s rubbish that they don’t, but hey, after nearly two years of thetechangel.com providing fixes for users (here, here, and here), this is the way things stand.

Update: Fore those users running Windows 64-bit editions, using Firefox, should headover to here: http://thetechangel.com/blog/2010/01/firefox-flash-fix-for-windows-64-bit/
