A legend retires from the computing industry

This week, the man who brought the ‘home computer’ to the modern world will be stepping down from being at the head of tomorrow (Friday). Bill Gates has only ever worked in one company, his own.

Bill’s employment will be held running his charity organisation Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. He will be shifting focus from his previous dream of having “a PC in every home” to helping change the world allover again, but this time with the strap-line of “healthy people in every country”.

Whilst Bill won’t be the face of Microsoft any longer, he will be very much involved in the major decisions at Microsoft as he will still be Chairman – further to this his address will function as MS as normal tool! The new CEO will be Steve Ballmer, and Ballmer is nothing new to Microsoft as he has been there for some time, but it would be expected that he would certainly make his mark on the group.
