Microfilter A microfilter or filter is a little gadget that separates low-end frequencies associated with voice calls from the high end frequencies used by your broadband  connection. This allows you to connect to the Internet and make voice calls at the same time. Broadband users should have a microfilter on each telephone socket that they use on their broadband line. The filter should always come first, before the periferal is plugged in (phone, fax, answering machine).
