Tuesday looks now certain to be the release date for Firefox version 3.5.
The update to the software should be available on Tuesday 30th June in the morning (unconfirmed, but pretty sure it will be when the US wakes up, not GMT).
Amongst the usual security fixes and bug solving patches, Firefox 3.5 will included a Private Browsing Mode (similar to Internet Explorer 8’s), a new JavaScript engine known as ‘TraceMonkey’, new location services, and good news for webmasters; HTML5 support.
Mozilla’s Mike Beltzner told Now PC Magazine that he expects over one billion downloads of the updated browser total for all Firefox browsers after 3.5 is released.
