The software update which is available now makes Open Office much snappier that its predecessor versions.
The everyday stuff users will notice has got quite a but quicker, from opening documents, to inserting charts and graphs.
For regular users, other new features and improvements include being able to preview an object as it is being moved around, rather than a simple dotted square, also overline text as well as underline.
OpenOffice 3.1 also welcomes the ability to leave notes and comments on the margins of documents so multiple users can leave feedback as they work.
