Would you believe it? Even the IT Guy is in trouble now!

Hi everyone,

I know its been awfully quiet around here since the start of September. As all customers know I moved home in the middle of last week…but…and this is a big one – I don’t have broadband yet, let alone a line. Not through poor organisation by myself, but by poor organisation of a certain British telephone company. Prepare yourself for important info and a rant:-

It’s been over two weeks since I told telecom’s co that I needed my line migrated to new address, but what they didn’t say is that it takes up to 7 – 14 days after you are in your new address to get a phone line. By the time you have done that, then and only then can you can order your broadband, which may take up to (ready for it!) 10 days too!!!

It’s chronically bad form (in my opinion) by the teleco, and worst of all, before the move I never had the time to take the Book a Time system off-line, but also with the false belief that phone line would be ready at new address either same day or very shortly afterwards. This has resulted in me being unable to confirm online bookings with people via , and also not being able to update the Agenda page, resulting in double-bookings and disappointment for some.

So this all goes to prove that even The IT Guy can have problems. Fortunately, IT Guy has good, nice and kind customers who let him access his Blogberry (on his own watch of course!) so he can tell the masses: “Please don’t book a time online for the time being!

Anyway, if you got this far into the rant and explanation, then good for you.

Apologies of course go to those wanting to book a time online. You you can of course email me at the usual address or pick-up the phone.

When things are back to the norm, it will of course be psoted here, and you will see that the Agenda pages have been updated.

Fingers crossed for a phone line and broadband soon!
