Check names in your email

If you want to the name or address before you send the message, press the ‘Check Names’ button from the top menu – see symbols on the bottom-right as to what it look like. This will check against the names and email addresses in the Address Book and contact folders.

Notes about extract matches and multiple matches:

  • Check names examplesIf an exact match is found, the name is underlined.
  • If multiple matches are found, a red, wavy line appears under the name. Right-click the name to see the matches.
  • In or most of ’s email software programs: If multiple matches are found, and you have used the address before, the name you chose previously is displayed in the box with a green, dashed underline to remind you that there are other matches. Right-click the name to see the matches.
